Movement Desensitization Processing). EMDR is a form of psychotherapy,
which uses a structured approach to address past, present and future aspects of disturbing memories. This approach was developed by Francine Shapiro to help resolve the development of trauma related disorders resulting from exposure to a traumatic or distressing event, such as early childhood abuse or military combat.
Cynthia’s experience includes psychotherapy, counseling, workshops, and education, in clinical as well as corporate settings. She counsels couples, individuals and groups. She specializes in the area of cultural and multi-generational issues, race and identity concerns, as well as grief, loss and transitions.
